Keeping you safe and supporting your community

Norfolk Safety CIC is a Community Interest Company and operates as the commercial trading arm of the Norfolk Fire Service. Our profits are ring fenced and reinvested in community interest projects such as youth engagement/development and fire prevention/awareness activities for the elderly and vulnerable.

Every delegate we train can have an impact on their local community. Not only are we able to raise awareness, understanding and skills around Fire Safety and First Aid, but the profits from courses are used to support some great projects across Norfolk.

Lock Snappers to the Rescue

We are proud to have recently funded new lock snapping equipment for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service

The new lock snappers help crews gain access to buildings and locked rooms during emergencies more gently and safely, causing less damage and lowering the risk of injury.

Thank you to the Carrow Road crew and Assistant Chief Fire Office, Scott Norman, who joined us to receive the new equipment.

A furry friend to boost your day

It’s good to talk… spending time with a dog helps to improve how we feel. It can also aid us to relax and talk informally about our thoughts and concerns. We are pleased to have funded the Norfolk OK9 wellbeing dog scheme.

This service is available to Norfolk Fire & Rescue staff and volunteers who may fancy a simple walk or a cuddle whilst taking some time out to improve their health and wellbeing.

Norfolk Show was a winner!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by the Emergency Services Village and picked up some fire safety tips from us and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

We’ve had a great time meeting the local community. From the hundreds of school children who have been eager to learn about how to keep safe, to the local businesses and residents who have shown superb support for Norfolk.

Fire Cadets

Norfolk fire cadet units provide insight into working within a uniformed service. This exciting and unique opportunity is for young people aged between 13 and 17.

Cadets will be able to develop both their personal and social skills including self-discipline, teamwork and citizenship. The three units in Norfolk are in:

Crucial Crew events

With various partners we engage with Year 6 students across the county delivering safety messages in a fun and interactive way through hazards presented in a safe environment.

Our aim is to help children stay safe and learn valuable life skills. Young people are one of our best communication tools for spreading safety messages. They can share them with family, friends, carers, and the wider community and take forward these life skills into the future.

We will be delivering seven Crucial Crew events in Norfolk over the academic school year 23/24.

Biker Down

Biker Down is the UK Fire and Rescue Services’ response to a safety concern they identified amongst Bikers, namely that as we (Bikers) often ride in company, the first person ‘on scene’ at a Motorcycle accident is often another Biker! One of the hardest issues trainers and safety advisors face is changing peoples’ behaviour and our experience shows that motorcyclists and drivers are particularly difficult to influence in this area. Shock tactics may work for some, but with the high number of fatalities and casualties involving motorcyclists on our roads, another approach is clearly needed.
